Biographical / Historical
Ukrainian Lawyers Association in New York was an organization of lawyers who emigrated after the Second World War. It was founded in 1949 with members from various cities across the United States, and beginning in 1955 its membership expanded beyond the United States, primarily to Canada. Its first president was N. Hankevych, followed for many years by B. Dzerovych. Beginning in 1976, the association was headed by V. Savchak and I. Nosivs'kyi. The association cooperated with the Conference of Ukrainian Academic Professorial Organizations and published the non-periodical collection Pravnychyi Visnyk (Legal Bulletin) in 1955, 1963, and 1973.
