Vasyl’ Stetsiuk papers
Scope and Contents
This collection consists of the personal and professional papers of Vasyl’ Stetsiuk. Materials include personal documents; extensive correspondence relating to the NTSh in Europe, Australia, Canada, and the United States, as well as correspondence between the NTSh and the Ukrainian Free University (UVU); organizational records of the NTSh in the United States and Europe (Sarcelles), Canada, and the UVU; and materials of the UKKA School Council. Also present are writings by Stetsiuk and others, and press clippings.

Biographical / Historical
Vasyl’ Stetsiuk (1910-1975) was a classical philologist and educator born in the village of Hnylychky in Zbarazh County, Galicia. A graduate of Lviv University, he taught in Lviv before emigrating to the United States in 1950. He served as a professor at the Ukrainian Free University (UVU) and at Seton Hall University, and was a full member and longtime secretary of the General Council of the Shevchenko Scientific Society (NTSh). His published works include Istorychna porivnial'na hramatyka latyns'koi movy (1950) and Ivan Franko yak kliasychnyi filoloh (1967), among others.
