Biographical / Historical

The idea of publishing commemorative book about the Drohobych region of Ukraine was broached at the 1st Meeting of the former residents of Drohobych in 1964, became a reality in 1974 at the 4th Drohobych reunion. In 1974 the Central Committee of Drohobych called upon their countrymen to collect additional material in order to publish an addendum to the Drohobych Region Publication. In 1978 a second volume was published with additional information. In 1984 the editorial board under the leadership of Luka Lutsiv collected and compiled new material for a third volume. It was published in 1986 under the editorship of Adolf Hladylovych (Luka Lutsiv died in 1984). Although a fourth volume was planned for the material which did not make it into v.3, the project was never realized.
