This collection contains the personal and professional papers of Roman Wolchuk, a civil engineer specializing in steel bridge construction. The professional materials include documentation of his projects, professional correspondence and writings, materials related to civil engineering presentations and conferences in the United States and Ukraine, documentation of his efforts to help Ukrainian engineers get their work published in the West, and translations of European construction codes into Ukrainian. The collection also contains correspondence, records, and newsletters related to the Ukrainian Engineers' Society of America (Tovarystvo Ukrains'kykh Inzheneriv Ameryky), including presentations by Wolchuk at the Society's symposium in 1969 and 1973.

The collection contains Wolchuk's personal correspondence and writings, as well as material related to his involvment with the Plast Ukrainian Scouting organization, including correspondence with fellow Plast members and issues of Plast periodicals (particularly the "Burlaky" group). It also has correspondence, clippings, and notes related to his advocacy work on behalf of Ivan Demianiuk, including with the "Ukrainian Friends of Fairfield Association" ("Spilka Prykhyl'nykiv Ukrainy u Ferfil'di"). It also contains some notes and drawings from his childhood and materials from 1930s and '40s L'viv, issues of newspapers prepared by students of the Ukrainian gymnasium in Lviv in 1936-1937, and publications of the Press Office of the Association of Ukrainian Students "Osnova" edited by Wolczukin 1943-1944. It also includes incidental material, such as travel notes (including for a trip to Nepal), newspaper clippings, correspondence with Ukrainian and Ukrainian American institutions, books (primarily on civil engineering), and ephemera.

In addition to his own papers, the collection also contains materials of Roman Wolchuk's family members, including Pylyp Volchuk (1890-1946), Sofia Parfanovych-Volchuk (1900-1968), Osypa Matsevych Volchuk (1897-1924).
