Myroshnychenko-Kuz'ma family papers
Scope and Contents
This collection is composed of materials of the Myroshnychenko-Kuz’ma family. A large majority of the collection is dedicated to exhibition and event materials, including flyers, brochures, catalogs, attendance lists, and more. Personal materials and records include IDs, diaries, notebooks, tax documents, immigration paperwork, and correspondence, including with Vasyl’ Barka. The collection also includes the personal documents and correspondence of Halyna and Stefania Myroshnychenko and Liubomyr Kuz’ma. Finally, written materials, such as a book, nearprint publications, and newspaper clippings.

Biographical / Historical
Halyna Myroshnychenko-Kuz'ma (1920–2009) was a piano teacher and painter; wife of Liubomyr Kuz’ma. In 1949, Myroshnychenko-Kuzma settled in New York. She served as a piano instructor at the Ukrainian Music Institute in New York and taught in the Music Kindergarten program in New York, Newark and Philadelphia, and also taught music and choral singing at St. George Academy in New York from 1972 to 1974. Myroshnychenko-Kuzma was also a painter and a member of Ukrainian Artists in America (OMUA).
Liubomyr Kuz’ma (1913–2004) was a Ukrainian painter; husband of Halyna Myroshnychenko-Kuz'ma. In 1949, he emigrated to the United States, where he lived in New York City and Tannersville. He headed an art school in New York, served as president of the Association of Ukrainian Artists in America (OMUA, Ob'iednannia Mysttsiv Ukraintsiv Ameryky), and contributed articles on art to the Ukrainian-language press.
