Patriarchal Society (New York) records
Scope and Contents
This collection contains materials of the Patriarchal Society dedicated to achieving a patriarchal structure for the Ukrainian Catholic Church with Major Archbishop Josyf Slipyi as the Patriarch. It includes meeting minutes, by-laws, press releases, lists of contributors, correspondence with individuals and organizations, including with the Shevchenko Scientific Society. The collection also contains materials on the Ukrainian Catholic Church more generally, including articles, clippings, and other documents on the Fifth Synod of the Ukrainian Catholic Church in Rome, the First Conference of Laypeople of the Ukrainian Catholic Church, Cardinal Slipyj, the student rebellion of the Pontifical College of Saint Josaphat in Rome, the demonstration in front of the Apostolic Delegate Luigi Raimondi's residence, and more. There are editorial office records and photographs from the journal "Patriarkhat." Finally, the collection also includes radio scripts for "Holos Myrian", correspondence and court documents related to the trial and case of Senyshyn v. Artymyshyn, Procyk, and Kowalyshyn.
