This collection contains materials related to the life and professional artistic work of Jacques Hnizdovsky. It contains extensive documentation of exhibitions in museums and commericial galleries (including posthumous exhibitions), with catalogs, fliers, and other publicity materials, including for exhibitions at institutions in Ukraine. It also has his writings and personal and professional correspondence, including with museums, galleries, publishers, authors of books he was illustrating, and other individuals and organizations in North America and Ukraine. It also contains a limited amount of personal and official documents, school report cards, and similar material. Also included are photographs, awards and commemorative items, donation records, newspaper clippings, ephemera, articles by others about Hnizdovsky, books and periodicals with illustrations by Hnizdovsky, and a limited number of sketches, designs, and original artworks and prints.
